Byron was born in Portland Oregon and grew up just across the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Architecture. Immediately following graduation he served as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers for six years and then finished his 31 year Federal career with the Corps of Engineers Portland District. Working in the fields of construction management, environmental protection and waterway regulation,  Byron had extensive experience in dealing
with other Federal, state and local agencies, office management, staff supervision, researching, writing and computer implementation and maintenance.  He has been retired for nearly 8 years and has been pursing his own genealogy and family history for over 10 years. In addition to his own genealogy, he has found how exciting it is to help others. As a result, he has established "Fill'n In the Blanks", a sole proprietorship dedicated to these pursuits.
